Within Your Heart
Uncovering your Child's Brilliance

Our children are struggling to be understood

Childhood is the most crucial time of life. What happens during these essential formative years will often determine the success or failure of most individuals.

It is tough to be a parent! We are expected to look after our children’s needs, to stimulate their intellect, to nourish their bodies and to guide them in all aspects of life. Unfortunately, we are struggling and our children are suffering. Would you like to know why? Would you like to stop the cycle with your child?

Both the problems and the solutions exist within our emotions.

Unresolved emotional issues often lead to:

  • Anger and aggressiveness
  • Attention deficit disorders
  • Behavioral difficulties
  • Poor adaptation and adjustment
  • Learning difficulties
  • Sadness, melancholy
  • Self expression difficulties
  • Anxiety
  • School Failure

What is Emotional Intelligence?

Emotional intelligence (EQ) is the potential ability in each of us to feel, use, communicate, recognize, learn from, manage and understand our emotions and the emotions of others. Research now indicates that it is EQ and not IQ (Intelligence Quotient) of a child that directly determines his or her success in the world. Each child enters the world with the potential to perceive and identify emotions in themselves and in others. However, the success by which they acquire the knowledge, self-discipline and skills to do this competently will determine their degree of healthy emotional, cognitive and social functioning.

Our role as parents and teachers is to guide our children in understanding what causes emotions by helping them to stay open to what they are feeling.  This will enable them to capture the deep wisdom of these emotions
