Emotional Resolution Sessions:

Individual sessions
These are offered to children, teens and young adults on an individual basis. They are essential for any child or teen who wants to resolve a personal conflict either on a physical or an emotional level. This conflict can be within the family, peer group, with Self or anywhere else in their life.

The method used is slightly different from the group process, but just as effective. Within a 3 months time span, your child will undergo amazing growth, renewed self-confidence, improved self worth, and stronger autonomy. They will also develop and enhance their conflict resolution skill and learn to communicate more effectively.

Format for 5-16 years of age:
  • 10 sessions of approximately 1 hour each:
    • The first session involves a discussion and interview with one parent.
    • The next 8 sessions are held with your child privately.
    • The tenth session involves both parent(s) and child.

Format for 16 years and older:

  • During the first session we discuss the reasons for the consultation and we also discuss the goals that you wish to obtain.
  • The number of sessions needed vary and will be determined at the first session.

Format for Group Sessions:

  • Three 1-hour group play-shops plus one parent-child session
  • 3-5 children per group. Small groups are essential so personal time and attention can be given to each child.
  • Children are grouped together according to their age

Parent’s role

  • Be attentive!  Be on the lookout for what is happening in your child’s life.

  • Help your child! If a difficult situation presents itself, help your child identify the emotions that he or she feels right in that moment.  This step is vital so your child can successfully develop the ability to precisely articulate what is happening inside of them.  Once their emotions are successfully identified, solutions will become increasingly more evident.

  • Remind!   Remind your child to use the techniques and tools learned during the workshops.

  • Communicate!  Emotionally challenging situations are great opportunities for you as parents to improve the communication between you and your child.  By communicating openly and immediately, the lessons inherent in the emotional event will become apparent.  Your patience, effort and listening skills are the most incredible investment you could ever make for your relationship.

  • Congratulate!  After each workshop, remind your child that he or she is living through a “change period” and that they are doing great!  Take the time to encourage and congratulate your child.
